A list or WordPress Versions, from the newest to the oldest, along with the Change Log information on new features and improvements in each version.

Each major version of WordPress is named for a Jazz legend.

  • 2.8.6 (12 November 2009) – Security Release
  • 2.8.5 (20 October 2009) – Hardening Release
  • 2.8.4 (12 August 2009) – Security Release

  • 2.8.2 (20 July 2009) – Security Release, XSS vulnerability
  • 2.8.1 (9 July 2009) – Bug fix and security enhancement release
• 2.8 (Baker, 11 June 2009, Chet Baker) – 790 bug fixes, 180 new features, changes, upgrades and improvements. You’ll notice is that visually 2.8 feels a lot like 2.7, just with some minor tweaks here and there. However once you’ll dig in you’ll begin to appreciate the changes.
